How to ask
Clients (NearGuard Panic Button app)
- In the app, open Account → Delete my account. It shows who to contact at your security company.
- Or email your security company's Information Officer – their details are in the app under Account → Privacy contact.
- Or email NearGuard at nearguard.solutions@gmail.com with the subject Delete my account. Include your name, the mobile number you use in the app and your security company's name. Please don't send ID numbers or passwords.
Security officers and control room staff (NearGuard Agent app and control room)
Ask your employer (your security company) to remove your account, or email NearGuard as above.
We check that the request comes from you (for example by phoning the number on the account) and confirm within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your account and login: name, email, mobile number, home address and home pin, access notes and emergency contact.
- Your settings on our system, your Cancel PIN (stored only as a scrambled code) and your Watch me trips that ended safely.
- Your messages to the control room that are not part of an alert.
Your account is closed straight away and the information above is deleted within 30 days.
What may be kept for a while
Some records must be kept for a short time, for example if there is a complaint, an insurance claim or a police case:
- Alerts, with their times, locations, messages and voice notes: 12 months after the alert.
- Records of who did what in the system, and the app's readiness checks: 3 years.
- Escort home records (date, time, officer and any extra price), which are billing records: 5 years.
After that they are deleted, unless the law or a legal case requires them for longer. They are never used for anything else. See the privacy policy for details.
